Who doesn't know the story of Icarus, son of Deadalus who wanted to escape from Crete flying and ended up dead. Deadalus created wings from wax. Icarus, although warned by his father, came to close to the sun. The wax melted and Icarus fell into the sea.

I created my interpretation of Icarus not flying or falling but on the edge of the attempt to fly. The wings are closed and by the way it stands there we will actually never know if it will fly or not. It also depicts the way I feel sometimes, on the edge of something...
