Argia

Fore me literature can be a real inspiration. Argia is based on a story of Italo Calvino. He wrote Invisible cities, a book with short stories where Marco Polo has to tell Kublai Khan about his property and the cities in it. It's very philosophical and also the style of Calvino is very expressive.
Argia is one of the stories that tells about the city which is dark cluttered with mud, where you can see nothing and breathing is difficult. One is wondering if there is still life at all. In this piece a person is standing bent with his hands in a pose as if throwing away dug up mud. In my interpretation there is still life. The rough stone on the feet and on the back shows that this person is stuck in or under mud, stones etc.
