Jean Langlais (1907 - 1991) was a French composer and organ player. He studied at the conservatory of Paris organ with Marcel Dupré and composition with Paul Dukas.

His music came to me with the complete organ works by César Frank which he plays. Later I studied a piece for flute solo he composed and I was very impressed with music for organ played by Christine Kamp. This portrait depicts with the colours the music that I heard at that time.
